The Borlase family’s Sacombe show team from the South East Club had a successful trip north to Edinburgh for the Royal Highland Show where they stood reserve male champion with Perrywood Coyote. This March 2011-born bull won the intermediate bull class under judge Gordon Clark of the Broombrae herd. Coyote is by the previous herd sire Grangewood William, a sire who has left exceptional stock in the Sacombe herd, and is out of Perrywood Vixen.

Taking centre stage at the National Show at Cheshire was judge Robert MacGregor of the Team herd, he chose his overall champion in the female champion Dirnanean Kitty 2nd from south east members David and Lesley Sapsed, Hertfordshire. She then went on to win the interbreed championship the following day. Shown with her bull calf at foot by Dirnanean Welcome, Kitty has already won interbreed champion at Newark and Notts and Herts County and interbreed female champion at South of England this season. This 2007-born Halenook Panache daughter is out of the Dirnanean Kitty, an Arkmill Franklyn daughter. She carries a TPI of +83 and SRI +88 and is full sister to top Cogent sire Dirnanean Jacob.

South East Club members David and Lesley Sapsed won female champion and then overall breed champion before taking the interbreed female championship with Dirnanean Kitty 2. She is a Halenook Panache daughter out of Dirnanean Kitty, an Arkmill Franklyn daughter. She carries a TPI of +83 and SRI +88 and is full sister to top Cogent sire Dirnanean Jacob.

They also won junior and overall male champion and junior interbreed champion with the January 2012-born bull Heathbrow Double Star. He is a Hockenhull Kramer son out of the Whitemire King Kong daughter Heathbrow Superstar.

Flying the flag for the south east club at Herts Show were David and Lesley Sapsed’s Dirnanean Kitty 2. She won female champion and then overall breed champion before taking the interbreed female championship. She is a Halenook Panache daughter out of the Dirnanean Kitty, an Arkmill Franklyn daughter.

Well done also to Hayley Clarke on winning the male championship having won the yearling bull class with Williams Draco, a Darsham Playboy son out of Tillymaud Malvena 58th.

South Eastern Club member Rhys Grenham of the Boars Head herd, Sussex, had a worthwhile trip north to Stirling when he sold his April 2011-born heifer Boars Head Grace 7th for a joint second highest price of the day at 5000gns.

She had already stood first in the second class of Simmental heifers under judge Iain Green of the Corskie herd. Grace is a daughter of Seaview Prince Charming and out of Sway Harvest daughter Wistow Grace 40th and sold to James Hollingsworth for his Midhope herd.
